The charity for people living with inflammatory bowel disease has published new information sheets to support people taking medicines or who live with a stoma.

Available to download free from the Crohn’s and Colitis UK website, the charity says the information will be useful for health professionals as well as those with IBD and their families.

The three information sheets are:

  • ‘Taking Medicines’ – this focuses on IBD medicines for use in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis This information sheet looks at some of the most common questions asked about IBD drugs and how to take them. It also considers the effect of other medicines and adherence and compliance aspects.
  • ‘Living with a stoma’ – this discusses different types of stoma and considers them in relation to IBD, stoma care, appliances, diet, and how stomas can affect quality of life.
  • ‘Vedolizumab’ – this gives a brief overview of some of the important points about the drug and its use in treating Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

These new titles are included among over 40 publications on IBD available from Crohn's and Colitis UK.
