EMIS-healthJune 29 2015

EMIS Group has branded all of its healthcare software businesses under the single name of EMIS Health.

The new name will be the “unifying brand” for the range of systems used in general practice, pharmacies, and hospitals. These include:

  • EMIS primary care software and services used across 53% of GP practices;
  • Rx Systems used in 36%of community pharmacies;
  • Ascribe and Indigo 4 used in 81% of NHS acute trusts; and
  • Digital Healthcare used to support diabetic eye screening.

“The move emphasises EMIS Health’s unique ability to join up healthcare technology and patient records across every major UK care setting – from high street pharmacies to GP surgeries, community services, A&E departments and specialist care,” says EMIS Group.

“It follows five years of expansion during which the company, which began as a GP software supplier, has become a leader in the delivery of technology to support integrated care.”

Earlier in the month, EMIS announced that it is “set to join up community healthcare for 170,000 patients in East Surrey” under one of five contracts the company has won under the London and Southern Framework, replacing Servelec’s RiO EPR.

It will work with social enterprise organisation First Community Health and Care to help “reduce hospital admissions and provide more efficient, coordinated care” across 27 different community services with 320 staff, including district nurses, health visitors, school nurses, allied health professionals and those at the local 28-bed community hospital, Caterham Dene.
